E-Commerce Alive and Well in the Midst of Challenges

Once again, the Philippine Internet Commerce Society (PICS) proved that e-commerce is alive and kicking in the country as it successfully held its networking night for the month of June 2008 Friday night, the 27th, at the Magnet Cafe at the Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, entitled, “e-Commerce Alive! 2.0″.
The event was well-attended by PICS members and players in the e-commerce industry who were treated with both food and a lot of information. It was highlighted by a presentation on the current status of the Credit Information Systems Act (CISA) and the Payments Systems Act (PSA), both of which are legislations that are deemed to have an impact on the proliferation of e-commerce in the Philippines.

We finally pulled it through! For the first time we were able to gather in one place all the major industry players in the field of ecommerce.
